Anna Magdalena Spitelmaier Brandstetter was born in Baden, Hoffenheim, Germany on August 18, 1711. Her parents were Hans Martin Spitelmaier and Anna Catharina Willemann. Her brother was Hans Adam Spitelmaier.

She immigrated with her parents to America when she was 21 years old.

She married Johan Jacob Brandstetter. Their children and life together are described in detail in the section on Jacob and Magdalena Brandstetter
